- National Atlas of the United States. First published in 1970 and updated in 1997. Online version has interactive maps and downloads.

- Ocean Atlas of Hawaii. From the University of Hawaii Department of Oceanography, School of Ocean and Earth Science Technology.
- Routes International. Links to public transportation information worldwide.
- United Nations Atlas of the Oceans.Contains four sections: About the Oceans; Uses of the Oceans; Issues; and Geography (this section not yet finished).
- Wyoming Internet Map Server.
- World Water and Climate Atlas. Downloadable weather data. Requires registration.
Gazetteers
- Geographic Names Information System. Find place names and features in the U.S. and its territories as well as Antarctica
- Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names. Over 1 million features in this database.
- Alexandria Digital Library Gazetteer Server. From Administrative Areas to Woods, over 4 million features may be queried.
- Census Bureau's U.S Gazetteer. Search for places, counties and MCD's. Unincorporated place names not included.
- Natural Resources Canada GeoNames Query. Also links to specific websites for British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Quebec, and Onatario.
- National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's GEONet Server: Foreign geographic feature names. This agency was formerly NIMA.
- The World Gazetteer. Quick, informative statistics and information about countries of the world. Clickable map here is a nice assist.
