Lobby (New Books and Popular Reading Collection)

The Lobby is located on the ground floor near the east entrance to the Library.  The New Books and Popular Reading Collection are located here.  These materials can be checked out.

Circulation Desk (806) 742-2265

The Circulation Desk is located near the east entrance area on the ground floor.  Check out and return books here. Books may also be returned in the book drop located outside the east entrance to the Library.

A valid Texas Tech University ID Card is required to check out books.  Overdue fines are referred to the Student Business Services office (West Hall) for billing.

If you need an item that is checked out by another patron, you may fill out a "recall" form at the Circulation Desk.  This form is also available in IRIS, the Online Public Access Catalog.

TECHexpress Value Added Terminal

Patrons can use this terminal to add money to their TECHexpress accounts.  It is located near the Circulation Desk.  You will need your Tech I.D. card and cash to use this terminal.

Information Literacy Lab(Room 150)

This lab, located in the University Library's north wing, is used for instruction in the use of the library's resources.

Students can obtain course readings deposited here by professors.

Teaching, Learning and Technology Center(TLTC) (806) 742-0133

The Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center is located in the north wing of the ground floor.  It provides TTU faculty with resources and tools to enhance teaching and learning at Texas Tech University.

The Information Desk is located near the west entrance on the ground floor.  Student assistants are available to give directional information about the Library and campus in general.  When the Reference Desk is closed, the Information Desk staff can answer basic research questions.

This Desk is staffed every hour the Library is open.

Staff at this desk can answer your questions about library services and/or your research. 

Reference Collection (East of the Reference Desk)

Encyclopedias, dictionaries, indexes, and other reference books are available for use in the Library.

Career, Scholarship, and Writing Resource Collection(West of the Reference Desk)

This collection complements the resources and services available at the University Career Center and the University Writing Center.

Document Delivery (806) 742-2239

The Document Delivery service (Interlibrary Loan) is located on the ground floor adjacent to the Reference Office.  Books, periodical articles, media, and maps not owned by the Texas Tech Libraries are borrowed from other libraries using this service.  Requests may be submitted online using ILLiad, the Document Delivery system.  Requested items may be picked up in the Document Delivery office.  There is no charge for this service.
