Help Station

A computer providing access to the TTU Libraries' Web site and a phone are located at this station.  The computer can be used to access IRIS, the Online Public Access Catalog and many other resources.  The phone is connected  to the ground floor Information desk.  Use it to get help when using government documents, maps, current periodicals, and microforms.

Microform Collection and Reader/Printers

Magazines and newspapers on microform are located here.  A microcard reader is available to patrons for reading microcards.  Microfilm and microfiche machines are available to patrons for reading, printing, scanning, and emailing articles.

Maps

The Map Collection is affiliated with the Federal Regional Depository Program.  As part of this program, the Collection houses maps from the United States Geological Survey, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency(formerly NIMA), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the  Central Intelligence Agency, and other federal agencies.  The focus of the Map Collection is Texas and New Mexico.  The Collection also includes many atlases.

Government Documents

The Government Documents Collection is one of two Regional Federal Depositories in Texas.  It receives all publications distributed under the U.S. Federal Depository Library program.  Government publications are received in many formats, including paper, microfiche, microfilm, DVD, CD-ROM, videotape, and electronic resources.

Current Periodicals

Current Periodicals

Generally, the current two years of magazines and journals are kept here filed in Library of Congress call number order.  Past issues are bound and kept in the stacks filed by the same call number, or are on microform.  Oversized periodicals are kept in the southwest corner of the room.

Newspapers

Newspapers (Domestic and International)

The current two months of domestic and international newspapers are located at the south end of the room.  Some past issues are kept in microforms.  The newspapers are arranged alphabetically by the title of the newspaper.

Copiers

Copiers and Change Machine

Photocopiers, located in the Copy Room, take copy cards, coins, and one and five dollar bills.  The copiers are managed by the University Copy Service.

Entrance to the ATLC

The ATLC (Advanced Technology Learning Center), located in the West Basement, has 4 main PC labs, a PC group computing area, one Macintosh lab, and 5 open access Macintosh stations.  Students and staff can get their eRaider accounts at ATLC.
