What is QuestionPoint?

The TTU Libraries, in collaboration with the Library of Congressand OCLC, are part of the QuestionPoint collaborative reference service. QuestionPoint allows us to respond to, track, and manage reference questions from patrons via the Web. The service is available in both email and realtime chat-based formats. If we cannot answer your question we have the option to refer unanswered questions to the Global Reference Network, a group of libraries and institutions worldwide that are committed to digital reference.

If you would like to communicate with a Texas Tech University librarian via email, choose this option. Our response will be sent back to you via email as quickly as possible.  NOTE:  Although we strive to be punctual in answering your questions--please email us again if you haven't received an answer within 5 working days of your submission.   Thank you.

Hours

Both methods require an email address. Through QuestionPoint you will receive an email with both the answer to your question and a password that will allow you to login into QuestionPoint to check your answers to this or any previous questions you may have asked.

Both the email and realtime chat-based forms require a Javascript-enabled browser. TTU suggests either Netscape 6 or higher or Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.

By IM (Instant Messaging)

Texas Tech Library is testing IM. Please bear with us as we implement this service. We will be comparing this service to the chat we already have availble. IM will be available from   Monday - Wednesday, Friday  10 am - 5 pm    Thursday  11 am - 5 pm     (Exceptions to these hours are listed above).
