Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)
The vision of CACREP is to provide leadership and to promote excellence in professional preparation through the accreditation of counseling and related educational programs. As an accrediting body, CACREP is committed to the development of standards and procedures that reflect the needs of a dynamic, diverse, and complex society.
National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)
The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) is the profession’s mechanism to help establish high quality teacher preparation. Through the process of professional accreditation of schools, colleges and departments of education, NCATE works to make a difference in the quality of teaching and teacher preparation today, tomorrow and for the next century. NCATE’s performance-based system of accreditation fosters competent classroom teachers and other educators who work to improve the education of all P-12 students. NCATE believes every student deserves a caring, competent and highly qualified teacher.

National Association of School Psychologists
The mission of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) is to promote educationally and psychologically healthy environments for all children and youth by implementing research-based, effective programs that prevent problems, enhance independence and promote optimal learning. This is accomplished through state-of-the-art research and training, advocacy, ongoing program evaluation and caring professional service.

ERIC Counseling and Student Services (ERIC/CASS)
The ERIC/CASS was one of the original clearinghouses established in 1966. Its scope includes school counseling, school social work, school psychology, mental health counseling, marriage and family counseling, career counseling and student development, as well as parent, student and teacher education in the human resources area. ERIC/CASS was closed by the U.S. Department of Education as of Dec. 19, 2003. Counseling Outfitters is the new contractor that continues ERIC/CASS services and products.
Texas Association of School Psychologists
The purpose of TASP is to advance school psychology as both a science and a profession with the ultimate goal of providing and promoting learning, emotional and social development, and mental health of all children in Texas.
