Installation Notes:

The Architectural Graphic Standards application operates as a mini web server on your computer. This is very efficient and flexible but may require some adjustments to your browser settings if you have problems at any time. It is unlikely you will have problems unless you have altered settings on your browser, but the following notes explain the main points where a problem may arise.

NOTE 1: DO NOT Choose "Work Offline"

You do NOT need an active Internet connection to run the AGS Client, however you must have network access to the AGS Server. When you run the AGS application, you may get a message suggesting that an Internet connection is not available. If you select "Work offline", this setting will prevent communication with the program server, and the program will not function properly. Please choose "Try Again" (or "Connect"), and the application should launch without a problem.

NOTE 2: If you use a local network with proxy server, you should select the check box "Bypass proxy server for local addresses" in your Internet settings. Please check: Internet Options > Connections > Local Area Network (LAN) Settings > Proxy server.

NOTE 3: If you have a pop-up blocker installed in your Web browser, it may interfere with the functioning of the AGS application, which does use pop-ups. Please disable your pop-up blocker while you are using this software.

NOTE 4: Windows Vista Users - UAC (User Account Control) should be disabled during the installation of the client software. The install makes two important updates to the launcher.ini file that is installed at C:Program FilesArchitecture Graphics Standards Client. If UAC is enabled, and this file is set with read-only permissions, the installer will not be able to update these values. If this occurs, please update the properties section of the launcher.ini file with the following information:
