In 2005, the University Libraries chartered a Web advisory body, called the Web Site Support Team (WSST), to support the Libraries’ mission by overseeing development and maintenance of the Libraries’ Web presence.
WSST ensures the Libraries’ Web presence is inviting, relevant, easy to navigate, consistent, documented and current. They facilitate the exchange of information and Web-oriented collaboration with Libraries’ departments and/or functional areas, other campus Web groups and other appropriate bodies.
WSST’s mission is to create and maintain a Libraries’ Web site that provides access to and facilitates the use of information, resources and services regardless of a user’s location.
After two years of surveying, focus groups and usability testing, WSST has created a new Web site that is in compliance with the university’s Identity Guidelines and Web site template and also has greater user functionality, capability and aesthetic appeal.
