Who are distance learners?

You may qualify as a distance learner if you are one of the following:

• Participating in distance education with Texas Tech University
• A currently-enrolled student who doesn't reside in Lubbock
• On an internship approved by the university
• On a research or study abroad trip approved by the university
• A faculty member on long-term research, development or teaching projects away from the main campus

Electronic resources

All students and faculty can access databases and electronic journals from off-campus by logging in using their eRaider accounts. This gives you access to full-text scholarly journal articles and e-books. Contact us to report issues accessing electronic resources. 

Getting materials at a distance

Request library materials that you cannot access online from the Document Delivery department, which handles all interlibrary loan requests.  Manage your request through your Document Delivery account. They send digital items to your online account and mail print items to your designated address via FedEx.

When you log in to your Document Delivery account for the first time, select "TTU Distance Patron (Faculty, Staff, and Students)" as your Status and enter the address you want to use as your delivery address.

To update your mailing address, follow the steps below:

1. Login to your Document Delivery account.
2. Select Tools > Change User Information from the left menu.
3. Set your Status to "TTU Distance Patron (Faculty, Staff, and Students)".
4. Update your mailing address.
5. Click the "Submit Information" button at the bottom.

TexShare Card

To borrow materials from local libraries within the state of Texas, request a TexShare card from the University Libraries by contacting the Access Services Department at (806) 742-2265 or libraries.circulation@ttu.edu. You may also request one from your local public library. Learn more at TexShare Card Program.
