Funds and Endowments
The University Libraries is supported through annual student-use fees and through the private giving of Library donors. The mission of a major academic research library like Texas Tech University Libraries is expanding at a rapid pace. As new technologies emerge, the Libraries must respond to the needs of savvy students and faculty on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis. Your gifts help bridge the gap between the annual funding generated from fees and the increasing cost of providing leading-edge services to a growing number of patrons.
As a Library supporter, you may designate your giving toward any specific fund, collection or subject area. If you choose to add to an existing fund or endowment, the impact of your gift is greatly enhanced. Consider giving to one of of the following Library funds or endowments:
Coach Knight Library Fund
Founded with a generous seed gift from Texas Tech's Hall of Fame men's basketball coach, this fund is created to enhance Library services benefiting Texas Tech students and faculty. The Library's new Digital Media Studio (DMS), which provides state-of-the-art multimedia computer equipment and software for patrons, is made possible thanks to Coach Knight and the many donors who support this fund. Visit the Libraries' Coach Knight Fund website for more information.
Dean's Fund for Excellence Endowment
This important endowment supports emerging funding needs for the Libraries in many areas, including: computing and communications technology, student services programs, acquisitions and university outreach. Your gift to this fund allows the Dean of Libraries to respond to the ever-changing needs of Library patrons.
Pamela A. Cooper Endowment for Library Development
Founded by the late Dr. Pamela A. Cooper through an estate bequest, this endowment was established to support and enhance development activity for University Libraries. Gifts to this fund may support salaries, travel and operating costs associated with fundraising, stewardship and professional development.
