Building Codes and Standards

Building Codes
Building codes prescribe standards for construction to ensure that buildings will be safe for human habitation. The two codes referred to most frequently are:

This publication, used around the world, provides general requirements for various types of buildings. Because it is an international publication, the International System of Units is used for all units of measurement, but conversion tables are provided.
