Reference: Buildings and History of Architecture

Neo-Byzantine architecture: St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Sofia.

These titles are found in the Architecture Library reference area on the 9th floor. They generally contain information about buildings and some illustrations. Other reference volumes that provide information about architects may also include details about some of their buildings. You will find the archives of the work of a number of famous architects in the reference area as well. You may need to consult several sources in Architecture Reference and the 8th floor stacks if you need plans, section, and elevation drawings of a particular building.

An excellent survey of architectural history is kept on Reserve at the help desk. Ask for Trachtenberg's Architecture: from Prehistory to Postmodernity, NA 200 T7 2002.
