  This encyclopedia has about 2400 biographical entries on architects from around the world and from ancient to modern times.
   
• The Dictionary of Art

  (also an online subscription database)
  The Dictionary of Art includes biographies of famous architects, including discussions of their work. Another copy of this title is found in the main library's reference collection.
   
• Contemporary Architects

  Brief entries including biographical and career information are included here for architects active in the 20th century.
   
• International Dictionary of Architects and Architecture
  NA40 .I45 1993 v.1-2
  Entries for 523 important architects from around the world and throughout history are included in Vol. 1 of this set. In addition to biography, listings of publications by and about the person, and career highlights, there is a brief essay on each architect.
   
• Biographical Dictionary of English Architects, 1600-1834

  This work provides short essays on the architects' life and careers. Suggestions for further reading are also given.
   
• Directory of British Architects, 1834-1900
  NA967 .D57 1993
  Information in this volume is provide in outline form, including biographical and career details. The sources used in creating the entries are listed, so you could refer to those titles for additional information.
   
• Avery Obituary Index

  Obituaries will often provide information about a person's career and works. This index tells you where and when an obituary was published.
