FACE 2009 | guidelines

Please read the following entry guidelines before submitting your registration form.

Eligibility
This exhibition is open to all full and part-time Texas Tech University faculty.

Work Eligibility
Any area of inquiry is eligible, regardless of whether you have completed/published your scholarly work. We only ask that your entry fall within the timeframe of “We only ask that your entry fall within the timeframe of May 1, 2008, to May 1, 2009. Eligible items for submitted works include but are not limited to: books, journal articles, reports, musical scores, screenplays, films/podcasts/Webcasts, artwork in a variety of mediums, software programs, patents/trademarks, scientific discoveries and other original works. Please do not provide URLs as we will not be able to link to them. If you have a question about whether your work is appropriate for this particular exhibit, please send us an e-mail at libraries.face@ttu.edu.

Entry Fee
There is no fee to enter FACE.

Publicity Release
A selection of works may be reproduced for publicity purposes. TTU Libraries reserves the right to photograph and reproduce entry material.

Invitations to the Exhibit Opening
The Libraries will sponsor an opening reception Sept. 23, 2009, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Croslin Room of the University Library. An electronic invitation to the exhibit opening will be distributed to TTU faculty.

How to Enter Your Work in FACE 2009
Complete the electronic form. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from the Libraries’ Exhibits Committee for each entry.

Abstract of Your Work
The electronic submission form includes an area for an abstract describing the essence of your work.

Biographical Sketch
The electronic submission form includes an area for a biographical sketch.

Delivery of Physical Items

This year's exhibit focuses on the representation of scholarly work in a multimedia showcase. Some examples of multimedia representations include footage of your research process, high resolution photos of 3D objects or presentation audio files. We encourage any additional ideas you may have about how your scholarly work is presented in the 2009 FACE. When dropping off your physical item(s), you will be required to fill out a Physical Items Release Form. You will then be given an accession number which you will need in order to pick up your item(s) at the end of the exhibit. For more information, please contact your Subject Librarian.


Pickup/Return of Physical Item(s)
After the exhibit is over, your items will be available for pickup in Room 308 in the University Library Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. until Nov. 20. Please note that you need your accession number from the Physical Items Release Form to pick your item(s) up. After Nov. 20, physical items will be returned in accordance to the Physical Items Release Form.
