Microforms

The Library has a number of single items and large collections in microfilm, microfiche, or microcard formats. To find them, you can search the online catalog and then locate them in the library basement by call number.

Materials on microfilm and microfiche are found in the moveable shelving against the east wall of the basement. There are four large boxed collections of microcards kept on the far end of the shelving along the wall next to the "A" range of unbound journals.

Indexes and guides to microform collections can be found against the wall adjacent to the "A" call number range for unbound journals. You can find these in the online catalog--normally they have the same call number as the collection they reference. Not all of the guides provide subject access to collections; some are merely listings of included titles.

There are many microform readers in the basement, four of which are able to make copies (10 cents each), and two of which scan images digitally (no cost). Items in microcard format can be read but not copied.
