TTU Libraries' Privacy Policy is compliant with the TTU Privacy Policy.

Texas Tech University Libraries maintain their websites as an information resource and service for the public and this privacy policy applies to all pages of these sites that are maintained by Texas Tech University Libraries.

Personally Identifiable Information

Personally identifiable information is not reported, used, or released to any outside parties unless legally required to do so in connection with law enforcement investigations or other legal proceedings, including application of the Texas Public Information Act. The information is retained only for the duration required by record retention time laws, and is not made available to any other entity outside the Library except as required by law.

The Library maintains personally identifiable information about library users. The most commonly-collected personally identifiable information is names, email addresses, and majors or departments. This includes, but may not be limited to:

  • Reference interviews (including e-mail and online chat sessions)
  • Circulation records
  • Document Delivery (Interlibrary Loan) records, and
  • Other personally identifiable uses of library materials, facilities, or services.

We will use the personally identifiable information only to maintain your library account and respond to your requests.

For site management functions, information is collected for analysis and statistical purposes.
